Interesting...
It looks good, but I question whether it would be a sustainable story line for tv series...
The same terminatoresq fights each week would get a bit tedious... they would have to come up with something to keep the story moving.

dl'ed the pilot for this a while ago, and I can't say I was impressed. The premise felt a bit forced (they had to basically retcon some pretty crucial parts of T2 to make it work), and I didn't see anything to particularly hook me, other than Summer Glau :D. Dunno, maybe I'll catch a couple more eps whent hey come online, but so far, no go for me.

My son and I watched this a few weeks ago and loved it (gotta love bittorent). We've definitely got the Tivo set to record going forward.
Summer Glau isn't really my style; I'm more of a Jewel Staite (Firefly Kaylee), Nicki Clyne (BSG Cally) and Gina Torres (Firefly Zoe) kind of guy...
Oh, and isn't Sarah the same actress who played the queen in 300 last year?

I might get slammed for this but I was over at my friends dorm when this came on and we were all fairly excited about it. But it just wasn't that great. We all got to the point midways through the episode just making fun of how bad the writing was and how bad the action scenes were in most cases. Who knows maybe tonight's episode changes my mind about the series but I think this is going to be yet another series that goes away real quick.

I was watching at a bar, so I missed half of the dialog. It LOOKED great, and from what I could make out it sounds like an interesting story premise. Can't speak for the writing yet, though.

Opening with (not) shocking dream sequence = boo. They justified it with the exposition. But still...
"Class dismissed" = boo.
"Half an hour. One bag. And the guns. I'll go make pancakes." = okay, that was amusing.
And there was another good line, but I forget it.
"I am different." = boo. Why not add in, "... Because I know how to love"?
The future resistance sent an engineer back in time to work on the vault? Why not just have your agent open a safety deposit box or six instead?
I think it's cool how this Terminator moves like the morphing T-1000 in T2. Guy did his homework.
I wonder if this model, like the last female Terminator, can make her boobs grow, too.
Sorry, that was uncalled for. I'm still frackin' p*ssed about Terminator III. T2, for me, is as good as movies get. Or close. It's one of those artistic and technological moments where things might get fancier after it, but they'll never match its raw content. I'll take T2 over the Jurassic Parks (boo) and the Matrix movies (which, don't get me wrong, are fine) any day. T3 just stank on ice. Maybe the biggest squandered opportunity in the history of motion pictures. A terminator with morphing breasts that can telekentically manipulate motored vehicles? Boo-hiss. Crane scene? Boooooring. And I still can't believe they kept that seven-year-old "talk to the hand" joke. I generally don't believe in hating, but I'll make an exception for T3.
Back to TV: Am I the only one who has trouble getting excited about all the gunplay and explosions in the first episode? I know I'm supposed to suspend my disbelief, but neither Connor or the Terminatress is gonna get killed in the first episode. Come on.
Glad they brought the boyfriend back. He's one of those guys who's gonna get the right role one day, and people will be like, "Wow, he's good."

Okay, after seeing both days I'll say this.
It's got some great casting, editing, cinematography and production values; good writing and acting (mostly); and some interesting plot prospects.
It's got promise, but the kind that is easily screwed up.
It's gonna take some clever and skilled people to make this work over the long haul, but right now I'm kinda rooting for it.
I feel it may be a guilty pleasure like season 1 of Prison Break.

I found myself missing Arnie. Those goons they got to play the tincans just didn't measure up. No one delivers a one-liner like Arnie, the Henny Youngman of action flicks. Who else could deliver a line like, 'Hello cutie pie' and not lose credibility? (different film, I know)

I realized this morning that my wonderful wifey had Tivo'ed the first two shows, so after breakfast I checked the show out. I must admit I was very surprised. I liked it ! The effects hold up, and the writing was not brain-damagingly bad, (a la Bionic Woman). The actors don't drag you out of the story (a la Bionic Woman)...ok, ok, sorry, but BW was disappointing and I seem to be holding a grudge...I do miss Arnie, of course, but yes, the actors playing the cyborgs do have the moves down for the most part. Summer Glau (sp?) wouldn't be my dream choice, I'll forever be a Sarah M Gellar fan when it comes to watching a yummy babe kick butt, vampire or otherwise, with A Jolie a close second. All in all I think this one deserves a look and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for continuing goodness.

Opposed to popular belief, as a sci-fi geek, I am quite capable of separating my fantasy and reality. Actors and politics, don't get me started. I say to thee, "Stay with what you do best!" I just watched the recent Cruise debacle (http://gawker.com/5002269/the-cruise-indoctrination-video-scientology-tried-to-suppress

Last week's Entertainment weekly made an interesting point about how one of the show's angles is showing how two strong women help turn Nancy-boy John Connor into a leader of men. And I like that.
Still haven't finished part two of the debut, but I'm liking how they've just surrendered some continuity points to go buck-wild with the possibilities of the travel concept, and make it the universe the playing field for a big temporal chess game.
Anyone wanna talk about best time travel movies in a separate thread? 'Cuz I have strong (positive) feelings about T2, 12 Monkeys, and -- yes -- Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. And what was the time travel movie Sean mentioned a couple 'casts back, the one where a guy can see two minutes into the future?

I am really enjoying the series so far, although I thought the pilot episode was noticeably stronger than the second episode. (Which is too bad, since they will be in our "present" from here on out. Well, we'll see.) I must say, I have never seen any of the Terminator movies, and primarily checked this out because it was new scripted science fiction -- but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the writing brought me up to speed on what I needed to know; I loved the action sequences (especially in the school -- what a literalization of an adolescent's feeling that the teacher "has it in for you" or "is gunning for you," eh?) and thought they were fine, especially for what can be done on TV budgets/constraints; and, yeah, I'd like a Summer Glau model, too. :-) Now I need to go back and watch the movies to appreciate it even more -- but, unlike most of the viewing audience, I guess, I will have this Sarah and John Connor stuck in my mind as the models to which to compare the film cast!!
I hope it does well, especially if the strike lingers on -- my fear is, like other sci-fi (and other) shows, a continuing strike will mean it doesn't really have a chance of surviving.

If there's a 'bot coming back for me, make it a Daniel Craig model! (Although Nathan Fillion would be fine too.)
For those who haven't seen the Terminator movies, I highly recommend them. I admit, even though I saw T2 when it came out, it was only last year that I first saw the first movie. But it was great! (And yes, it helps to pretend it's 1984.) When T2 came out I had sort of a crush on Eddie Furlong (the young John Connor) but couldn't get past his bad-boy image - among my eleven-year old friends, that is. I loved that long-on-top hair back in '91. ;)
Haven't seen any of the new series, but I'll try to check it out.
Lady D - Education cuts?? Ugh - little else gets me that angry, but I'll leave it a saying, I'm with you on that one.

Maybe they can do like BSG and just plan a coherent story arc -- be it two seasons or however long -- and do it, and do it well. I liked tonight's episode, too, although it was more slow paced than the first two -- but the character work was really strong, I thought. I love Cameron trying to fit in at a high school!

No show must last forever. From what I saw tonight I think two seasons would do justice to the story. Tonight was the first episode that I got to watch. It was quite good. Of course, prior to that, what was watched was Delta Farce (http://imdb.com/title/tt0800003/) followed by Antique Road-show (http://imdb.com/title/tt0159847/). All in all that was an interesting mix.

The pilot wasn't bad. I liked the story concept of bringing it into 2007. I agree that it doesn't have much of a chance beyond 2 seasons. I'm hoping though that those two seasons are full seasons and that the last episode ties everything together, rather than just sputtering out.

They're two very different films. The feel is different, the direction is different (even though they're both Cameron films). IMO, T2 is a better film by far. It's been a while since I've seen T1, but the way that I would compare them is to say that T1 is almost like a thriller/horror and T2 is more of an action film.

However, they are talking about the unlikely possibility the supercollider might propel some sub-atomic particles several picoseconds (one trillionth (10-12) of a second) through time. Nothing about flesh covered combat robots with nice abs. Most of the discussion seems to be how you can tell if it does happen.

On another note related, i heard on a recent NPR, This American Life about a guy who lost his father at a young age, and all his life devoted his study to time travel. he was legit and at 55, developed a paper on the subject that was taken very seriously in the science community. He also recently realized the machine, if worked, would only transport an object at best to when the machine was created. it does sound like what you described is being tested across the pond.

Was this the same episode which used part of the Studio 360 show on Nicola Tessla as its third act? I listened to the podcast of that This American Life and then that afternoon caught the full Tessla episode on the actual radio. That was cool. Did you know that Tessla and Mark Twain used to sit around shooting each other with the ray gun that Tessla invented? Huge, MASSIVE amounts of radiation straight to the face. Maybe this explains why Mark Twain was so eccentric?

ok, i'm up to the last episode now. I have to say the following:
1. the first episdoe sucked. at first it was really cool, because i haven't had a terminator fix until the last movie, and i was happy to see any terminators, but then i realized; summer gave the worst rendition of 'come with me if you want to live' EVER. Also, i found it strange that she looked, acted, walked, talked like a normal girl until the other terinator tried to off john, then she turned into the cybog. Very strange. hope they have some way of explaining that because it makes no sense whatsoever. that being said...
2. if you discount (or just don't watch the first episode), from episode 2 on, the acting & story are 100 times better. cameron is better as a hot terminator and not the 'thing' she was in episode 1. The writers are getting a grip on their characters, and the show is better every episode now. The flash forwards are great, the terminators are great, and i know those things can be expensive to do. hope this goes on a few seasons at the same rate it's going now.

OK. Finally watched all the semi-finale. Some very good stuff.
Really, really liked the birthday present.
Overall, I think the series found its footing pretty quick.
I'm not really feeling the Deadwood guy as the fake FBI terminator, but I can live with him.
I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan, but I didn't like the soundtrack for the scene at the end so much. Once a song has been used in one film/TV show, it should be banned for all future use. They should pass a law, call it The Jeff Buckley "Hallelujah" Act.
The big end should be interesting for future use of the Summer Glau terminator. I hope she climbs of the wreckage, all flaming, and pounds the bejeepers outta the guy, with firy fists of fury.
More props on the birthday present. That was a really nice little bit. Reminded me of 12 Monkeys, but not creepy.
Anyone know if they picked the series up, and when/if we can expect more?

There is a Terminator 4 in the works..... so I'm wondering if they'll try to interlace it with the chornicles? It's rumored to be about the first days of the war.

Manson does have a certain presence, I'll give her that. I figure the show will hit its stride again. Plus, they have a few more episodes to work with.

Pretty good second season premiere.
I loved the song in the first 5 minutes of the episode (which you can watch in full here (http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=tscc)). It was apparently rearranged and recorded by Shirley Manson (the T-1000 and singer of Garbage) and Bear McCreary.

Nope sorry, nope---Get me an Angelina Jolie Model (hot AND quite adept with the weapons...no not THOSE....you people are sick! Although I'm sure she's quite good with those too) - call her the T-1-Hotness.
Perhaps a Jessica Alba model (ala Dark Angel)?
Hell - as long as it ain't the Grandpa Goo model - cuz he won't do anything except sit around and tell you how bad stuff is gonna get.
...were you referring to Angie's guns? I just lurve double entendres (omg, that was a double-entendre by itself!)

And as for Shirley Manson turning out to be a T-1000, I never saw it coming. When they showed the guy running his mouth, I knew she was gonna be listening, but I never expected what happened. It made me laugh, anyway.

OTOH, I'm am so sick of the cold bitch executive role, though. I'm surprised they didn't get Admiral Ro to play the role. I'm glad they didn't but you get my meaning. (I hope).
I was watching 'Fringe' last night and again...cold bitch exec. Why can't they just play it cool? It's like they all went to the Sigourney Weaver in 'Working Girl' school of acting. If you play it cool, it comes off more menacing. When it's played the other way, I'm like take a Midol. It's demeaning...haha...that's pretty funny given my previous statement. But it is. What? A woman must be a bitch to succeed? That says alot to some young, impressionable woman out there.
For example, the Oracle in the Matrix plays it cool. She's not a bitch at all, but she plays the chess master just the same. Why can't a woman exec role be play that way?
I think if she had gone with cool, the bathroom scene would have been more of an "Oh snap!" moment instead of a "Bitch!" moment.

Atchally, the movies and series are both best enjoyed as separate entities. If I remember right, T2 pretty much contradicts what T#1 says about time travel, but it gets it out of the way and moves on. The TV series, all the time-travel rules are out the window.
And, as one otherwise-positive review from Ain't It Cool noted, "The televsion Connors remain 90 IQ points lower than the movie Connors."
As much as I meh'd and groaned about the episode, I did not see it coming that she was a T-1000.
Did anyone else get the Shirley Manson/urinal reference?

OK, I finally watched it last night. Some thoughts:
Shirley Manson is scary looking--in a is-her-face-made-of-plastic-covered-with-putty kind of way.
I saw that Shirley Manson's character was a Terminator (hadn't been previously spoiled on it) when she started yammering about "they" and "them" while looking down to the street and talking about how the people look orderly from a distance but close-up they aren't. The fact that she was a T-1000 was a holy shit moment for me and probably was the best moment of the episode.
The episode felt like a series of really contrived vignettes. Too many too convenient things. I think that the writers and producers knew where they wanted to go with the series and they chose to get the storyline to the starting line in a really, really clumsy way, rather than using several episodes to do it. If that is the case, then hopefully the rest of the episodes will be stronger and less clumsy and contrived. If the show continues to stretch my limits of plausibility, then I'm going to have to chuck it. I really enjoyed it a few episodes into the first season and I think it has real potential.
I was disappointed by the Cameron being "bad" storyline. I don't think it was necessary, frankly. Because of the clumsy way it was resolved it didn't add anything to the storyline. Even if they go back to it at a later date, there's no reason they couldn't have skipped it in this episode. It was a bad choice to include it. It could have been a holy shit storyline if it had continued...but it was resolved too quickly, too implausibly.
I agree that the episode was meh as a whole. I hope that I'm right and it was just a clumsy way to get the show where they want it to be for the storylines that they want to pursue this season.

It was a decent episode. But i gotta say i loved when Sarah was driving the car and gonna try and hit Cameron. Then Cameron stepped aside and pretty much threw the car. I was expecting her to take it head on like the usually do in other movies. Also i thought it was kinda disturbing to see Cameron's head sticking up between the two trucks.

Its okay, i'm a little tired of the stalking action, but it is terminator, i hope they pull back on action some put more into the characters.
the end of the episode was really what saved it.
i did really like the whole "promise me" thing. , and chro-marties "we'll see." after "i'll never do the devils work." at the end was a great touch the terminators not just using there muscle to kill, but working a plan. adding some interesting references to faith;
and of coarse the coolest of all the terminators, are back liquid metal, please don't decapitate me terminator
Still not sure about Shirley Manson but i haven't gotten a fair chance to see her act yet. still would be awesome if she does some new music for the show
overall i'm looking forward to the season ahead so i guess the episode did its job.

I don't know, the story kind of made sense to me. The show has been developing the John/Cameron relationship as John caring for Cameron and then you have her go haywire and see how that relationship could end up biting John in the ass. The part I found most interesting was when Cameron said "I love you". Was that the haywire Terminator trying to trick John or did she mean what she said? It'll be interesting to see where they go with that plot line.

I wouldn't say it was a clumsy episode. . .
A great deal of the episode focused on the emotional reactions of the characters. John's reaction was kindof the primary thread in that story, but all the other characters had their moments as well. It definitely seemed to me as if this was an attempt to add more realism to the story, or maybe to make the characters more real themselves. Though I admit it didn't seem as well done as it could have been.
The Cameron substory I thought was well done--except for the end. It should have been a multy-episode arc; they just didn't have enough time to properly end it in one episode. I did understand John's reactions though. Mostly because, if it were me *and* a hot terminator had saved my life that many times before (both conditions would have to be met) I wouldn't be able to resist that last little speech either :)
The parts with Shirley were somewhat more cheesy I thought. They didn't fit the episode at all. . .I suspect they were mostly to setup that this is an emotionally unstable Terminator, which sounds like an oxymoron to me (I admit I've not seen all the movies though, maybe that is possible).

What really annoyed me was that they never explained how they repaired her chip. Even "modern" microchips would be extremely difficult to repair without specialized equipment; advanced tech from the future? No way. I mean, they didn't even have the right screwdriver! Are we supposed to assume that they have access to an electron microscope and an array of delicate, complex tools, not to mention the technical skill to repair what's essentially a tiny supercomputer?
The part I found most interesting was when Cameron said "I love you". Was that the haywire Terminator trying to trick John or did she mean what she said? It'll be interesting to see where they go with that plot line.
Maybe she could have his baby! And the baby's blood cures cancer (but only temporarily). And then the kid gets more and more unsettlingly creepy as she grows up.
hmm, that sounds familiar.... :p
I wasn't expecting the T-1000 and now I'm really hyped to see what happens next.
My only issue with the introduction of a T-1000 is that it really highlights the difference in budget between TV and movies. The most recent episode had probably the worst morphing I've seen since the mid-'80s.
And again, to quote Ain't It Cool: The TV Connors remain 90 IQ points lower than the movie ones. T2 Sarah Connor would never keep dropping John back into high school like that.

I noticed that as well. I almost was thinking that I missed something to explain why she was acting like that. To me it seemed like there was a delay; my original theory was that she was under some sort of remote control (possibly by the T-1000?), thereby causing a delay in her reaction times. But now I'm not so sure....

Tying in with the "I LOVE YOU!" speculation/questioning... Maybe she really IS pregnant. In the first trimester, the hormones make some women's head go all spacey.
Yeah, that's it. Definitely pregnant. In the future, John Connor uses time-travel technology to get everybody laid. His mom, his friend, himself. No wonder he's recognized as such a leader.

I think you could make arguments about the HS aspect. . .seems to me keeping John locked up for 18 years would be as great a mistake. He does need to be around people if he's expected to be this great leader. Using HS is ridiculously cliche, but then, there isn't exactly much else to use.
And btw, I have this theory. I think it's intrinsically impossible for either the machines or the humans to win. Since if they stop the resistance in the past, they no longer ever had the need to develop time travel in the first place. And if the humans stop the machines in the past, then the machines would never exist. So it's kindof like a cycle, and time travel incidents where one group wins over the other can simply never happen. Only the ones resulting in stalemates can exist, since it maintains the status quo (except for pushing the doomsday date further and further ahead).

My impression is that John simply cleaned it and it was fine. There was no real repair involved. One reason why it was so incredibly stupid for him to turn her back on, since he hadn't really done any repair at all.

There's a rather large difference between 2d and 3d morphing. 2d morphing is a rather easy matter (in comparison) of image convolutions that "morph" between two video feeds or still images; 3d morphing actually requires multiple models (only 2, if your lucky and you can get a fluid simulation to work, more if you actually have to do it manually). I thought they did a fairly good job with this, personally; getting it to blend with the actor at the beginning/end of the morphing I imagine must be especially annoying.

Seriously, there need to be some more people here that think that this series is a bunch of craaaaaaaaaaaaap. I don't know what's more overrated, this or Heroes. It's a disgrace to the movies in so many ways.
But I guess the reason why almost noone here dislikes it is because if you don't like something, you simply don't go to the length of posting about in a forum. Except when you are so enraged about it that you have to vent somewhere. There has to be some kind of rule about that.
So, what are my negative points you ask?
In short:
-Writing
-Acting
-Directing
-Melodrama
-"Jokes"
-References
-Plot
Would you like it just as much if it weren't a spinoff of one of your favorite franchises? I doubt it.
Would I like it? Probably.
But I'll keep watching. Just like Heroes. It remains entertaining, even if it's painful.

Interesting...
It looks good, but I question whether it would be a sustainable story line for tv series...
The same terminatoresq fights each week would get a bit tedious... they would have to come up with something to keep the story moving.

The way I see it: No, it's not BSG or Firefly. The acting is wooden and the dialogue is clearly written by a pack of drunken rabid monkeys. No, it's not perfection. But this is FOX. Did we really expect perfection from FOX? Did I expect 1/10 of perfection from FOX? No, not even that. I'm happy just to have a scripted sci-fi show on TV.
There are plenty of other things on TV that are also utter crap. I'd rather watch sci-fi crap than non-sci-fi crap. Frankly I'm glad to have Terminator: SaChro, rather than "When Koalas Attack" or "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire Shemale".

I guess so-so Sci-fi is better than another reality show, especially the kind that Fox puts out, but it just seems like such a good license as Terminator could have been and should have been better. If I was producing the show, I would write a show killing off the worst of the actors and introduce new characters that will hopefully be more interesting and better acted. The writers really need to find some new layers of complexity to the show or it will not get renewed.

Gilmore Girls, hmmmm, best series ever, hmmmmm, no, I can't agree. Everyone has their own tastes. For me, picking one series would be very hard. House is a great series. The Simpsons is an institution, but they clearly have some seasons were the quality took a dip.
If I had to pick one series, LOST has hooked me. The way they play with flash backs and flash forwards, the plot twists, and so on, is great. If someone would have told me a show was going to have ton of flashbacks, I would have said they are insane, but LOST makes it work. The acting is generally solid and the pacing is usually good.

Episode 3 of this season...hmmmm....
The Hubs hated it. He says it was "all over the place. I actually liked it. I liked seeing some of Cameron's backstory, though there could have been more explanation as to how she was created from Allison. It was creepy and sad seeing Allison struggling to escape and survive in that aircraft carrier / prison. I personally thought the wide shot where you saw that it was an aircraft carrier was pretty cool.
So, what's with Cameron now? She's going all haywire. She told that half-way house woman that she's going to "kill John Connor and hang his head on a pike for all to see." Yeah, I can see why the lady would call the authorities. Great. Now, they'll be looking for her. The family just can't stay under the radar, not even when they aren't being chased by another terminator. Sigh. Yeah, they're starting to look like morons and wtf with John not telling his mother that Cameron was missing. I get that he's all "willful teenager" right now but COME ON. I'm wondering where this is leading. Cameron also told that woman she is "an infiltrator." Apparently in the future she was designed to infiltrate the Connor camp because she looks like Allison Young...ok. So what was Allison Young's significance? ("Cameron" told Allison--"I can see why he chose you." Is "he" John or someone else?) Is Cameron currently in infiltration mode, waiting to kill John or is she going back and forth? John knows something's up because of the obvious lie she told at the end of the episode about the necklace. There were a lot of interesting developments in the Cameron storyline, in my opinion.
OK, Sarah and the neighbor...an OK "b" story. I see that the complication there is having the cop hanging around. Thus, Sarah is encouraging the neighbor that she can "do it on her own." So wrong. Sarah does so much ends justifies the means stuff...I honestly never know which moral code she's going to use from one week to the next. I get that she's conflicted, but I'd like her to be less wishy-washy, personally.
Shirley Manson's face/make-up is still bugging me. She just looks--weird. I can't get over it. Maybe it's the HD, maybe not. I'm so distracted by her looks that I barely pay attention to what is actually going on in her scenes. Oh, but...hey, HOW did she get a DAUGHTER? Who's side is she on? WTF??? Am I right?
Some grittier dialog would be nice too. Personally, I think it would have been great if Sarah told her ex that his wife's death would be a blessing, because if she had to live through the human apocalypse that is to come if she and John don't stop it ahead of time, she'd rather be dead. Or something like that.

It's been iffy the first couple episodes this season. I've dropped it for now, to be honest. But it inherently holds promise, I just hope it steps up to that promise. Keep me informed.

Just started to watch the series and as a scientist I'm a bit upset to see how science and scientists are portrayed. I find it very hostile towards science.
For example, a lot of references to the creation and building of the first atom bombs, and nothing on the motivation of the scientists to do this.

I think you can skip some after the pilot, but even in the "meh" episodes, there's a lot of important info. Like in "Queen's Gambit", you find out more about where Skynet might have started, and in "Dungeons and Dragons", you get so much about the future resistence, and you have to watch "The Demon Hand" just to see Summer Glau dance, and "What He Beheld" is worth watching just for the park scene. But yeah, the second season is definitely kicking some major ass [sorry Barb].
I Told You It Was Getting Better.now If Only More People Would Watch Maybe It Will Last A Full Season.i Want To Know More About Cameron/allison.and More Of Dereks Story Too.
I only watched the first season over the summer. Now I'm hooked. And I agree. The Cameron/Allison story definitely piqued my interest and Derek's story has proven to be well worth exploring. I can't wait for more!

I think you raise a good point here at first I wrote a hilarious response about a robot being very hostel to folks named Connor more than science. and we should all just enjoy the robot killing fun. but then it hit me there is a good point. The basic premise is very anti technology. on its face. but i find it reasonable within the context of the story. i mean no matter the reasoning of making a weapon like the Atomic Bomb. it's a soul destroying thing. if what you create can be used to kill Millions of people. there is no good part in that. So by my thinking being hostel towards that science especially when it caused you know... say Armageddon. it kind of makes sense.

I just love comming on here and talking to people that love SciFi. my wife is much more of a English/Theater person, not much SciFi. I'm more History and Scifi. I was telling Pike GWC is a great group of people, and welcome new people all the time.

I'm a die hard Terminator lover, yes even T3. And I was super excited when they announced SCC coming out. Then when they added Summer Glau to the cast I was in heaven. Okay, yeah season one was pretty bleh. Good idea, not well planned out. I saw Ellison coming to their side early on so meh. Now the addition of Garrett Dilahunt as Cromartie was briliant. That man does psycho WELL!! Adding Shirley Mason into the cast.... YES!!!!!! But what really is doing for me this season is....*gulp* Brian Austin Green. Scary no? I can almost....not quite, just almost, forgive him for 90210. He's actually matured very well and I like the way he's playing Derek. Idea for a ratings boost:
Sarah Connor Meets Sarah Silverman:
River says: "In the futute, Sarah Silverman's humor will boost the morale of the Resistance, making it possible for them to persevere. She must be protected."
...
Also, what happened to Dean Winters, Connor's paramedic ex-love interest whose wife got whacked? I think that guy's great, but he's always landing on shows where they give him squat to do and write him out under some sketchy plot developments.

I completely agree. Ellis got it across the border somehow, and as a cop they could have taken advantage of his knowledge. Either that or someone stay there and guard it while the others went home for the thermite and bring it back.
I also thought John gave up on trying to find out what Ellis knew about it way too easily. Who else could have possibly known where it was?

I don't really like her character, she's a bit annoying, but I do like to see another side of John, the "in love" softer side, and I think it is interesting for him to have to deal with what that means for him. Makes his character a bit more complex I think.

I didn't know what you meant until I saw last week's episode last night. Holy crap, that was cool! It's good that her storyline is a little more interesting than at first, as otherwise she would have been in it for a lot of episodes for no particular reason. Also, is John not going to school at all anymore?

I just watched the last ep ! wow very curious about the riley story now! So I am thinking jessy came back with Riley to get john back on track? So from the first ep when they traveled fwd in time John still leads them but maybe he is more machine like and cameron grew up with and helped him build his army!
So glad the have a full 2nd season and this show gets better and better!

I was thinking that Jessie just got to Riley early because she was in foster care - an easy target. It didn't even occur to me that she might have come back too. Without going back and looking I thought that Riley was around much earlier than Jessie. Although I guess she could have arrived earlier and we just didn't get introduced to her.

Damn. I didn't even think that Riley might not be from the future. But she could very well be a local (temporal) girl who just bought into Jessie's line...
On reflection, I'm still leaning towards her being from the future. Her reactions just seem so visceral.

I hate to tell you the more I watch this season the more I begin to love it. And with heroes getting so colluded, and with PUshing Dassies and Our Own Worst enemy gone, its about the only tv show I looke forward to on a week to week basis.
Maybe its just me feeling withdraw from really great shows, or maybe the show is really getting better. The second season started out very slow, but these last few episodes have laid alot of great plotlines that I really want to see pla And I think they ahve the talent to do it...but I cant' see a resovled plot ocming out of these next 13 episodes.

Last night was "nifty" indeed. This show has really picked up over the last several episodes. The ability of the terminators to interact and blend in rather than being singleminded assassins has made for some good stories with both River, err Cameron and the model that went to the 20's by mistake.

another thing i noticed was the completely unrealistic star movement in both Cameron and Stark's HUD. They must be running on bad Windows software, because the stars could never move in the fashion they were shown. The stars travel in arcs relative to the Earth;s rotation. You could never see three stars intersect in a triangular fashion, it would be more like three curved parallel lines.
(I'm the guy who submits these things to IMDB)

I think it is interesting that a six month time span was covered in this episode, obviously from necessity to allow the baby to gestate and give us a more suspensful storyline. However this does mean that Derek will be around for at least six months after they started to investigate the entries on the wall, as there was talk of a character leaving the show.
