It's good to hear the view from another perspective. I get what you're saying, I guess I've been looking at it from the point of view that the original goal of the character Chuck was to get the Intersect out of his head, and for some reason it bugs me that he's put it back in. Though, I do think that it is a brave and noble thing to put it back into his head, to deliberately give up the life that he won back. That's who Chuck is.

The reason I'm concerned is that my initial worry is that this ending could be a bit of a deus ex machina, causing Chuck to go back to the Buy More, Sarah breaking off the relationship citing that she's protecting him again and needs to remain professional, essentially doing a reset to season 1 with a new baddie; it would feel a bit of a cop-out. That being said, if they use this to take the show in an entirely new direction (ie Chuck, Sarah and John take off as real agents) this could get VERY interesting, and you're right in that the new Intersect could result in some very humorous scenes.

Don't get me wrong, assuming Chuck continues into season 3, I'll definitely be watching! I guess the reason I'm passionate about this is because I like the series so much...

    Juan,

At first I had the same reaction, like, "Wha...?" I was a little annoyed because, while the Matrix reference is cool, I also thought, "Yeah, right, like 'knowing' kung fu suddenly makes your body able to do it." And it was funny but irritating for me. I think my thought was this: Chuck is *supposed* to be a geek. He's not supposed to be a supercool fighting machine. It's part of his charm, and what makes it so cool that Sarah loves him for who he is, considering all the macho hot guys (mmm...British dude) that have offered themselves to her.

However, I think Chuck (our Chuck) makes an interesting point. If every time Chuck flashes he gets some new skill or cool knowledge, that would be awesome. I think it would be even awesomer (it is a word in GWCworld) if he lost the old one each time he took on a new one. Like, he loses kung fu in order to learn how to fly a helicopter.

Chuck did, after all, look geeky as he knocked guys out with his awkward skinny legs and his Chucks kicking up in the air. (Wow, lotta Chucks in this scenario.) So I hope they'll keep him geeky and loveable.

Besides, this show, IMHO, has gotten better and better since it started. It's never let me down once, so I'm going to go with the premise that it's going to come back, and it's going to be great!

Oh, did anyone else wonder if suddenly doing kung fu, having never done it before and perhaps being out of shape or at least not stretched and limber - would really leave you with some serious next-day pain? Hamstrings, ow!!

Did anyone else read the CHUCK graphic novels that came out last year? The second issue directly hinted that Chuck had super spy powers. At the end, you saw Sarah home with their kids and Chuck is in Russia doing pretty much exactly what he did last night. I just found it interesting that they may have been kicking this idea around at least since the end of season 1 of the show.

I tried to find a working link to the comic on NBC but they seem to have taken it down.

Indeed, that could even be a plot point for next season (he loses himself in becoming a super-agent)

Ah okay, that would be cool. (though that's similar to Peter on Heroes)

That's what I'm hoping. Geeky Chuck is one of my favorite aspects of the show.

Just as long as Jeffster makes another appearance

I so want this new storyline to be a good thing for Chuck (the character). You and Chuck (the GWC'er) put it in a way that will prevent me from throwing my Chucks (the shoes) at the writers of Chuck (the show).

So now that I've watched most of the series... awesome.

Yet again GWC doesn't steer me wrong. Thanks, guys!

That's for sure... I've just picked up a couple books off the GWC book forum; great recommendations.

I'm not sure yet how I feel about the Matrix ending... The thing with Chuck is that, he's a geek, but one of the themes of the series is about Chuck maturing and taking on more responsiblity in his life... basically finding romance and a career. I'm wondering how the writers will decide to handle this -- do they feel like Chuck should have to "mature" out of his geekiness?

I don't think so. Think Kevin Flynn of Tron.
