What are you in the mood for? Beach? Disney? Dinner and dancing? Finding an Irish pub? :D In any event, I've got the first round.

Well I say Disney is out since Star Tours is down for upgrade. If I can't go on that 5 times per visit....it's not worth the cost to get in! :D

Is the Los Angeles Zoo worth checking out? Or I'm good with just finding a pub to hang out, chow down and visit with everyone for awhile.

Well I would say I was in, but I'm going crazy to find time just to go to disneyland next weekend as it is.

Yeah Star Tours is down until sometime next year. :( We could try for Universal Studios.....it has these attractions:

Studio Tour
Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride
Jurassic Park - The Ride
Terminator 2:3D
House of Horrors
Universal's Animal Actors
The NBC Universal Experience
The Simpsons Ride
Shrek 4-D
The Adventures of Curious George
WaterWorld
Special Effects Stages
The Blues Brothers

I've been there a couple of times before....once before the fire destroyed King Kong on the Studio Tour and once after...now he's back and in 360 3D (by Peter Jackson no less).

Lady D....Topgun...have you guys been there recently?

I don't know about other Californians, but I like this idea! How about Saturday the 18th? For those who don't want to spend the entire day in the park, we can also meet for dinner and/or drinks in one of the restaurants in the Citywalk area that doesn't require park admission.

Thots? Barb's visit is only about a week away so speak up!

Saturday the 18th would be the best day for me too. My friends will be busy catching up on the home front after working all week.

It's a date! Haven't been to Universal or that area yet, so sounds great. :D Let me know what time/exactly where you all want to meet up. As usual Twitter will probably come in handy for initially finding each other.

There's a huge globe thingie at the end of the City Walk before you get to the ticket booths/entry....that would be the best place to meet. I don't have an smart phone so I won't be able to see your tweets. :D

Ok, you guys from So. Cal. need to go online with the link below. As residents of So. Cal. you can get a 6 month pass for $60 each.

Me and Emily will have to pay the full $74, or if Emily thinks she will drive down again she can get an Annual pass for the $74 online. Parking is $15.00.

Should we Skype this weekend and set a time? Sunday afternoon I won't be home but tomorrow or Sunday evening will work for me.

For So. Cal. residents: http://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/tickets_local.html

For the rest of us: http://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/tickets.html

I had a blast at Universal with Lady D and Topgun yesterday! Most of the attractions are based off Sci-Fi movies so it's like a Disney for adults...or geeks like me.

Bkitty, The Hub, and Puddy drove up to Huntington Beach and we met them at Huntington Beach Beer Company for great chow and conversation!

Good times. :D

Best of luck with those interviews Barb. :D I'm sure you'll kick butt. It was awesome spending the day with you! Safe flight home and sleep on the way!

Universal is like Disney for Sci-Fi geeks. The Terminator 2 show had me wishing Thotfullguy was there (you would have loved it, Skynet, etc etc and we were laughing about it the whole time ), Jurassic Park was cool, very splashy (as in you get soaked), and the 75 ft drop at the end was, yes, a bit scary. And the Mummy ride was insanely fast, fast, (did I mention really really fast?) and I admit I had my eyes closed half the time, but dayum that ride is frakkin fast! Makes Space Mountain at Disney look like a cab ride.

For pure visual whacko tho, the Simpsons ride was unbelievable. All CGI and motion-simulator, this ride's mind-blowing.

Saw Bruce the Shark from Jaws, the Bates Motel, the Mule from Serenity as well as The Delorean from BTTF, and the King Kong 3D Adventure, which is pure ossim and worth the admission on it's own.

Better yet, spent the day with Gryper and Lady D, and topped it off with a dinner in Huntington Beach with us all and BKitty and The Hub, as well as PuddyTat.

Hell of a Saturday. :D

Thanks! One interview down (I think it went well) and one to go. Hopefully I'll get a few more calls for interviews in the coming weeks. :)

It was a great Saturday! All the attractions are great at Universal, and pretty much all in the Sci-Fi & Fantasy genres. I closed my eyes in part of The Mummy ride too....intense...backwards at full speed! Let's go again! :D

Arrgh!!
I can't beleive I missed it!!! I literally had NOTHING to do on Saturday and stayed home playing PS3 most of the day.
That's what I get for not checking the site more consistantly.

"Curse you Bukaroo!"
