Taking my cue from Lucky, I'm posting this question here. Does anyone know of a way to capture streaming video? Say, if you wanted to grab the Razor flashbacks from scifi.com or youtube and turn them into movie files that you could then edit/manipulate/burn to DVD? That's actually not what I'm trying to do, but the example fits. I know there's a lot of video savvy folk 'round these parts, so if anyone has a clue, send it my way. Thanks.

There's a bunch of ways, what browser and OS are you using?

Firefox 2.0.0.9 and WindowsXP 5.1.
Not the most powerful machine, and I probably don't know enough to really utilize it. But I appreciate any help you can give me.

Try this. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3242) (Caution, there are concerns that this one may be spyware. See below.)

I'm concerned about this (http://https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3242) being spyware from the warnings posted by other users. I'd rather not risk it if I don't have to.

Hmm. I use Safari myself, so I don't know. You can find plenty of alternates here (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=video+download&status=Array) or you can try a web-based approach like keepvid.com (http://keepvid.com/)
